Hey there, Mamas! So – I am so far behind on the times. I knew that podcasts were a thing, but I had no idea how to find or listen to them. Thank goodness for my summer intern, Jenna. She helped me download a podcast app and get all settled in. #dinosaur

Here they are, in no specific order, Podcasts that I highly recommend for a rockin’ relationship with foods and overall happiness.

Happier with Gretchen Rubin

If you’ve followed my blog or Facebook page for a while, you know that I am semi-obsessed with the work of Gretchen Rubin. (I have mentioned her in blog posts here and here.)

She is a big promoter of building good habits, which of course I love. Her podcast Happier with Gretchen Rubin is so good at making me feel, well, happier!

She and her sister Elizabeth Craft discuss actionable tips for things that listeners can try at home to help them feel happier and form habits that work for them. They also talk about stumbling blocks to happiness (things you can work to improve in your own life).

I cannot say enough good things about it! Love, love, LOVE!

Love, Food

This is the first podcast that I have listened to hosted by an RDN. Julie Duffy Dillon is an eating disorders specialist and really works with clients developing a healthy relationship with food.

I first started listening to her podcast because she had some PCOS-specific episodes. (I have been learning a lot about PCOS [polycystic ovarian syndrome] this summer, so I was drawn to this topic.)

She has a very compassionate approach for her clients that write in letters about their complicated food relationships, but she takes no BS from diet culture or the food police.

Body Kindness

This is another RDN-hosted gem. Rebecca Scritchfield is your coach for the podcast. Her co-host is Bernie Salazar, the at-home winner from season 5 of The Biggest Loser.

Body Kindness is all about getting real with how we feel about our bodies, how we respect them, treat them, and respond to what they tell us.

Rebecca and Bernie both address their history with chronic dieting and work on improving their relationships with their bodies to promote their healthiest lives and to be role models for their children.

Rebecca also really focuses on HABITS, which makes me so, SO happy.

Finding Time to Listen

One question I asked myself when I first started listening to podcasts was: when will I have the time?

It was actually pretty easy to figure out.

They’re now my go-to sound track when I’m getting ready in the morning, doing dishes, packing lunches, or any other (boring, yet has-to-get-done) task.

I also download them for my evening walks. Since my birthday earlier this summer, I made a commitment to get back up to 10,000 steps at least 6 days per week. Most nights, that includes at least one lap around my neighborhood to meet that goal. Now, that evening loop is the ultimate “me” time. No distractions, just being outside, active, with my podcasts.

I’m sure there are MANY more excellent postivity- and health- promoting podcasts that I will be able to share in the future.

Tell me, Mamas: What are your favorite podcasts? I wanna know!
